Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a related service provided by a licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant.  The services provided address the functional needs of students in the areas of fine- motor, sensory, sensory-motor, visual-motor, visual-perceptual, postural control, and self-care skills as they relate to tasks required in the educational settings/total school environment, that cannot be addressed solely by the classroom teachers.  In an educational setting, Occupational Therapy services are geared toward ensuring that qualifying students benefit from special education in the least restrictive environment.
